Because we had more free time we were told to do more than we would have had we been in school. It took us a while to get used to the idea and as the move date drew nearer it became harder and harder to say goodbye. Finally it came time to get in the car that day we had gone out to lunch with Pat and his girlfriend Angie.

We left about 12:00 and after loading Rosie and all our belongings in ad on the car (Rosie was in the car and the suitcases were on the car) we drove and drove until somebody said, "I have to go to the bathroom" so we pulled of at the nearest rest stop and got out. We did what you're supposed to do at a rest stop and continued onward. After two or three more stops of the same type somebody said "I'm hungry" so we drove a bit farther and stopped to eat then we got back on the road and didn't stop until we got to Chicago.

Now I know Chicago is a big city but it didn't seem any bigger than St. Paul. Now all we did in Chicago was spend the night. Most of you may not think staying in a hotel is that great but to kids younger than 8 years
old staying in a hotel is awesome. At the hotel we got to our room, changed into our bathing suits, and went swimming. The pool was very small and crowded. So after about an hour we got out and went back to our room. There we watched TV until mom said we could go down to the vending machine and get some candy or something. The next morning we packed up our suitcases and got back in the car.

We were back on the road again. Micayla and I had our personal CD players on and were listening to different things. Somewhere along the way we stopped in Indiana at a circuit city and Abbie and Luke got a personal CD player and a CD. Micayla also got a CD and as it turns out Mom had already bought me a CD. Then we went to Target and got a universal car adapter and batteries. We got back on the road and drove some more. Finally we stopped for lunch. Then we got back on the road, after some bathroom stops we stopped for the night just south of Buffalo NY. That night we did about the same thing we had done the night before.
The next morning we went to Niagara Falls. After we found a place in the parking lot we walked down a path towards an area where we saw the falls. After talking about ten pictures we moved on. Up the path a little ways was a bridge eventually mom came over her fear of heights and we walked across the bridge. As soon as we got across the bridge somebody said the famous line: "I have to go to the bathroom" So we turned around and went back to the bathroom. The bathrooms were in a building near the parking lot. So while we were there we decided to stop for lunch inside the building there was a stand that sold sandwiches and bottled beverages and hot dogs and things. So after a quick lunch we went across another bridge to the Canadian side of the falls. As it turns out the Canadian side was giving boat rides right up close to the falls. My mom wouldn't let us go on a boat ride. Finally we got back in the car and continued driving. Finally We got to our new house around 11:00 PM. We got out our pillows and sleeping bags and bunkered down on the floor of what is now the Mom and Dads room.
